For the past couple of years I’ve been closely following the one and only JAMIE OLIVER SCHOOL DINNERS CAMPAIGN to ban the junk in schools and get kids eating fresh, tasty nutritious food instead.
My child loves junk food and craves for pizzas, burgers and all all the time and hates rice and earlier even I used to think its so easy and fast to give u’r child that kind of dinner at home as well so as to avoid a huge batttle of wills at the dining table.
Being a full time mom, I really found hard to actually cook dinner for him as he sleeps quite early
After seeing Jamie Oliver’s programme on TV, I was really fascinated to see his revolution against junk food, and to understand whats good and bad for u’r kid.
I feel it’s the responsibilty of every parent to actually make their kids eat the most healthy food!!
To my surprise, I have cut down on crisps, cola and sweets and I can see a whole new attitude in my child .
So lets think and share our experiences and help each other and start a revolution in local schools and prove that school meals can be better. It’s all about making radical changes to the school meals system and challenging the junk food culture by showing schools they can serve fresh nutritious meals that kids enjoy eating. What we eat affects everything: our mood, behaviour, health, growth, even our ability to concentrate. A lunchtime school meal should provide a growing child with one third of their daily nutritional intake.
