chapathis with carrot raitha, cucumber chutney and pumpkin curry

Had a sumptuous vegetarian meal on friday night!!Great way to start a weekend isin’t it!!

Cucumber chutney

One of my favourite chutney which is served in restaurants around andhra and it tastes so good with rice or with chapathis

Green chillies: 4
jeera: 1 tsp
cucumber: 1/2
curry leaves: 1 sprig
mustard seeds, urida dal, chana dal: 1 tsp each

Take 1 tsp of oil, add jeera and green chillies and fry for some time.

Add salt and try to grind them a mortar and pestle. Avoid using the grinder as it makes it very pasty. Now add the cucumber pieces and try to mash them slightly so that u have some pieces.

Now take another tsp of oil and add curry leaves, urid dal, chana dal and mustard seeds.As soon as mustard seeds start spluttering, add this tadka to the chutney and serve!!

Its so easy to make and tastes superb!!!If u don’t have mortar and pestle then take 1/2 the cucumber pieces and grind them along with chillies, salt and jeera and after grinding add the remaining pieces to the chutney.I personally feel, using a mortar and pestle makes it more tastier!!
