Strawberry Meringue Nests

As i was visiting other blogs, i suddenly saw Meeta’s Monthly Mingle and today is the last day, I missed her earlier, Arabian one as well so here I am trying something very simple but elegant Strawberry Meringue Nests.

With so many fresh fruit and Vegetables in the markets, its wonderful to pick those vibrant and deep coloured fruits and try something simple.
Last weekend, we went to Norwich through our wonderful England Countryside and on our way stopped at a farm shop pick my fruit and veggies.
We as a family make sure, the fickle english weather doesn’t dawn our enthusiasm anytime and we make sure we go out on any day and see our beautiful countryside, lovely green moors. An 1 hr drive hrough the countryside is enough for anyone to liven up and there are thousands of walking trails all over the country, so we try discover them here and get walking!!!

Now back to my simple recipe:

Meringue nests and any fresh fruit thats available in that season.
I chose
Strawberries
Kiwi Fruit
Peaches
Apples

Cut the fruit into wedges.

Now for the filling, add whipped cream until it fills to the top and place the fruit on top of it and serve.

Noel was thrilled to look at those fresh fruit on those meringue nest and he is just waiting for his dinner to be served so that he can have this simple and light strawberry meringue nests

This is my entry to our Lovely Meeta’s Monthly Mingle

I tried making meringues once from scratch but i couldn’t manage the whipping part so it was a diaster, Never tried again though!!Ya they are bit sweet for my husband as well who carefully avoid the meringies but Noel already had 2 in a row!!

    Madhavi
thank u for visiting by blog and u are wrong as its not whipping cream madhavi, u can get these meringue nests from supermarkets or u can make from scratch and here it is:
To make the meringue, whisk the egg whites and the caster sugar until very stiff, so that it forms peaks when the whisk is removed; food processor will give the best results.I tried once with my hands and its really hard to whisk with hands, spread the meringue on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper, place in the oven at the lowest temperature setting and bake overnight until dry and brittle. Six or seven hours is long enough.
Such a long process but the end result is pretty amazing, will post this recipe seperately
