My Recipe on TV

Filed in Events 46 comments

I was delighted today when Amazing Anthony Worral Thompson who hosts Saturday Cooks cooked my recipe Live today on ITV. What an amazing experience it was to see my dish being cooked live and then those amazing chefs tasting as well. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him about the recipe and about my family, noel and see him cook through the recipe on phone.  Cracking the coconut bit was the highlight for today’s programmes as many of my friends immediately called me and said that was an amazing technique to crack a coconut.

As fresh coconut goes into many of my dishes, I would definitely follow his tip from now on.

Jilly Goolden, the wine expert recognised me from my other TV show and selected a great Argentinian wine to go with it.

All in all, it was an amazing experience to talk to those Pros’ and to see them cook and taste my recipe while I am talking, it did made MY DAY today.

Here’s the dish he made today, thats King Prawn Curry. You can check the recipe n the show at www.itv.com/cooks.

Immediately after the show, I had many friends calling me and people whom i don’t even know said that  Indian food is new to them but “I inspired them to give it a go”. Its indeed my greatest pleasure to even inspire one person to cook Indian food at home fresh with simple n amazing spices.

Thank you all very much  and really appreciate it and thanks to all who promptly visited my blog immediately after the show to check my website and leave those amazing comments and mails. It really means a lot to me.

That’s wonderful news, Padmaja! Congrats!

What was the tip on cracking coconuts? Please do tell us!

And a suggestion: why don’t you ask them to attribute the recipe on their site to you? That would really make even more people try Indian food as they would find more recipes on your web site.

And what is your TV show? We have a celebrity with her own TV show in our midst and we know nothing about it – at least I don’t! Come on! Spill!

Rachel

Thank you very much and very true when someone else appreciates your dishes and the effort you take so I am still excited n don’t know why yet??

Vegeyum
Very true, My ventures on tv is to show real indian food to the people over here in uk. When i say its fresh n simple, my colleagues at work doesnt believe me!, so when Antony showed how, I felt great that they are people who really notice your efforts!

Red Chillies
Thank you yaar and ya i know my conversation was live no editing so I had to be really careful about what i say? But everyone @ the studio made me feel so welcome!!

Vimmi
Thank you and do give it a try, its heavenly

Pushpa
Thank you and nice to see u here

Deepa
Thank you yaar, nice to see u here

Manisha!!
No yaar, not a celebrity or anything, just have a local show on tv, nothing much. I got into all this TV thing just to show real indian food u know!! The kind of food we get in indian take aways is crap here n so my journey started that way. Now the coconut cracking tip,
he used a cork screw and made a hole in one of the three eyes of the coconut, took the water out and kept this coconut in a oven for 10 minutes and then break it!! It so easily came out of the shell!!

How nice, Padmaja! Here in India, we’re so used to breaking the coconut on a grinding stone, all the other techniques seem so long. Once we tried breaking it on a piece of marble, needless to say, the marble broke into two, the coconut was intact.
