Best Student n a Quick Look
2007 was an amazing year for me, Some amazing things happened and unlocked so many opportunities for me. I have enjoyed each n every minute of those happenings. When you look back and feel how wonderful and kind the year was, its definitely an amazing moment to fill our hearts with joy and pride.
We as a family made some tough decisions about moving house, new school and most importantly being strong for one another when going through some tough times. It’s a wonderful feeling when you don’t regret even one thing. I feel that’s very important in anyone’s life. I really thank god for making me take some wise decisions and helping me in whatever I wanted to.
Our biggest worry was when I moved Noel in sept to an amazing n better school then the previous one. He knew each n every teacher in that old school and liked by everyone in the school. So it was the most difficult situation I was ever put in when he got admission in one of the best schools. Rocky n close friends supported me and stood by me and offered help and asked me not to worry in case something goes wrong. I wasn’t that strong enough to move a happy child who has settled so well in the school where he started from foundation.
Anyways when myself and Rocky made that decision, He was stronger than me and more practical where as me, thinking about all Ifs in the world like if he can’t adjust, if he can’t make friends etc etc. But he settled down really well and already made loads of friends and is really happy . He does miss his old friends but they come and visit us sometimes so its not that bad.
But on the last day of before Christmas, we had school assembly and Noel who was so poorly but didn’t want to miss the last day as he wanted to wish n say bye till new year to his friends and I reluctantly send him to school.
That last day was so hectic as I had my deadline as well and so tied up at work and thought I might miss parents n students assembly but could finish off just in time and ran to school , the main hall was packed with students and parents, everyone is so happy n looking forward for Christmas n holidays. The festive spirit was in full swing in the school. The head teacher walked in and we all sang Christmas carols and then she talked about how well the kids were in the Christmas play, how the school’s Christmas performance was mentioned as the best in the local newspapers with photos.
And lastly she said that every year end she selects the best student in each class and gives them the best student certificate. She gives a brief introduction about the student she picked and why she picked them up. There was pin-drop silence when she started reading out the names, she started from foundation stage and as soon as she reached till year 2 and I can see Noel’s class so alert n excited. She started saying this boy who’s is so full of life, always happy n enthusiastic about everything and it seems he helped her in her class about describing bossy verbs and she was thrilled to see a 6 yr old using words which were unknown to her.
She then said the boy’s name as NOEL and asked him come onto the dais and handed over his certificate. What a proud moment for a new boy who just started in this school in Sept and topped his class. It was an amazing moment for him and for me as well.
I know he is going to cherish this wonderful moment forever as he called up all his friends and family to tell them about his best student award and 2 medals he was selected as football of the year in his school.
After weeks of illnesses in the family and after those dull days, this did cheer us up and I tried to cheer them up and celebrate in a simple way by few simple treats for family n friends.
I made a simple roast for Christmas with very few side dishes. Meal was simple yet so tasty and delicious and that we all forgot how the house was the previous week and how weak we all were and enjoyed our hearty meal.
The highlight on that cold and festive morning was when Noel gave me this huge hug when he saw his Christmas present.
We were thrilled to see him so happy!! Everything else looks so secondary!!
Hope this new year brings joy and happiness to everyone. Missed so much fun during these couple of weeks anyways I slowly started to catch you all.
Stumble it!
