Chicken Skewers
Its end of december January ( I am too stressed to even get the month right!!ho ho) and I hardly blogged nor visited anyone’s blogs. Dont know how time is flying? Thank god i didn’t make any new year resolutions of blogging more n all this year or else it would have been my first disappointment.

Because of my other commitments, I am finding hard to sit, relax and enjoy writing up and presenting my wonderful dishes to my readers. I am venturing into an unknown world this year and it needs lot of research and most importantly my precious blogging time. So I am trying to fit everything into 24 hours of the day. An extra couple of hours won’t do any harm to me rather it will make me one happy soul!!!

Now my amazing chicken skewers I made the other weekend when I craved for something as fiery as hot and as spicy as a Scotch Bonnet. Sometimes your pallette is used to bland foods that you need to spice it up as well. So here we go

Free Range Chicken Breasts (Jamie Oliver did u hear, its free range from my favourite martlesham butchers): cut into small pieces
Ginger-garlic-clove paste: 1tbsp
Chilli powder: 1 tsp
Turmeric: 1tsp
Yoghurt : 2tbsp
Salt to taste.
Mix all the above ingredients and leave it in the fridge for atleast half an hour.
Thread 3 to 4 pieces into the bamboo skewers and grill them for 10 minutes each or may be 15 minutes depending on the size of the chicken pieces, personal preference would be just an inch ones.

I garnished with a chillies and a drizzle of lemon on the top, absolutely amazing!!! I served these chicken skewers as accompaniments with peas rice. A simple sumptuous meal with a fiery touch to those bland palettes

Hi Padmaja,
what a lovely red color on the chicken. easy recipe.. can we make this in the oven. or on a electric grill?
Vimmi
Oh yes vimmi, you can bake them in the oven and electric grill as well.
For grill just make them little small and for oven, a medium-180 for 20 minutes and your skewers are ready
