Ultimate Homemade Burgers

According to Noel, one of the best meals in the world is either pizza or burger. The word fantastic screams from his mouth as soon as I serve any of them. I tried these homemade burgers couple of months back and again made them over the weekend when his friends came over. They absolutely loved it and said that they were the ultimate burgers they have ever tasted so you can imagine how proud I was when you get a genuine compliment from little ones. Recipe is so simple but the taste is so amazing with all fresh ingredients. I would love to try my hands on pizzas as well but pizza is off our dinner tables for quite a while as Rocky absolutely detest them now and I am partly to blame. When I came to UK 9 years back as a newly wed,  didn’t have a clue how to cook as I never stepped into mom’s kitchen as my sisters were always there to help her. I was away from home to do my engineering for 4 years. You can imagine how life was in a hostel, well pampered to an extent that even tea is served at our canteens.

Now after I came to UK, I slowly started cooking once a week which was quite sad but at that time, it didn’t bother me and every other day it was pizza this and pizza that and it went for an year and that lifestyle has taken its toil and our waistlines are unimaginable. Rocky who gracefully ate along with me for almost everyday made him hate them and myself still a pizza lover but make them once in a while for noel but as Rocky wouldn’t even look at it.

Waiting to turn him around in near future but till then….

Beef mince: 1/2 kg for making good size 6 burgers

1 onion; finely chopped

Olive oil: 1 tbsp

Coriander leaves: small bunch, finely chopped

1 Egg

Salt and pepper powder.

Mix all the above mentioned ingredients  and the burgers will be better if they are chilled atleast an 1 hr before cooking.

Turn the oven on to 230 degrees centigrade for atleast 1/2 hr before placing the burgers on a greased baking tray for 10 min on either side and serve immediately with chips.

You can top your burger with layers of sliced tomatoes, thinly sliced cheese, raw onion rings, lettuce and a dash of tomato ketchup.

The best meal is ready to relish with chips and exactly what the kids did!!!Mission accomplished when I saw those happy comforting smile that they indeed loved to eat my homemade burgers!!
