815aaI dont know how many of you still remember those days where you have a huge stone mortar and pestle at courtyards.

Even when Sumeet Grinders were taking over the world, My mom being a very traditional used to love her mortar and pestle and all out chutneys, batters and masala pastes were all grinded in these traditional stones.

When I came to UK, the first thing I used to say is not getting the real taste or flavour when you grind using a mixie.

All my simple daily masala pastes  some from this cute little mortar and pestle. I just love to use this…

It gives an amazing flavour and taste to the chutneys etc

I am sending the first picture to Jai and Bee’s Click Event.

I am a crazy person for stone mortar and pestle…ended up buying a granite piece here at Ikea…though still long for the traditional stone one. This piece looks too good:)

Food always tasted better when the spices were pounded in a mortar-pestle…. I remember having tis at home (though not used any more)
